Welcome to the Billingham Tidy Up website

Billingham Tidy up group is made up entirely of volunteers who collect, remove & where possible, pass on litter for recycling from areas identified as badly affected by litter. We undertake litter collections in our local area on a group basis and through smaller or individual contributions by our members. Our group litter picks take place most frequently on Sunday, but we do occaisionally meet on other days of the week too. Occasionally we carry out other activities to improve the appearance of Billingham such as the cleaning of street signs.

We started our litter collection activities in February 2020 but had to reduce or halt them at times to comply with Covid 19 restrictions that were in force during 2020 and early 2021.

We hope you find this website informative and if you live in Billingham please do your bit to help keep our town as tidy as possible.

News and information in brief
On April 6th, Billingham Tidy Up went to Stockton near Portrack Lane. We were there with:
Norton Clean Up Your Act The Wombles of Hambleton Thornaby Community Litter Project
Eaglescliffe Community Litter Project & Ingleby Barwick Community Litter Project
to clean up Lustrum Beck & approach roads. It was a collaborative contribution to the Great British Spring Clean. We filled 105 bags with litter and rubbish.
